about

AdaM GRosshans, a licensed architect originally from the New York Tri-State Area. He developed his design sense at Davis Brody Bond for 7.25 years in their NYC and Washington DC offices before moving to Santa Barbara with his wife. At DBB he worked on large institutional projects, such as the WTC Memorial Museum and the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington DC.

Prior to DBB he spent 2 years learning hand drafting while working as a draftsman / intern at Gabriel Calenda Architects, a small residential firm.  Adam is probably one of the last of his generation to learn this trade, since this essential skill is rarely practiced.

In Santa Barbara, Adam worked for AB Design Studios for 1.75 years learning the ins and outs of the City of Santa Barbara and the City of Goleta's planning and permitting processes. There he worked on medium to small commercial projects for clients such as Sonos, UCSB, and Rusty's Pizza.

2015 GRaM Design was founded as a collaborative design practice with the goal of creating opportunities to work with the network of architects, designers, craftsmen, and artisans he has met over the years. He has worked with Gregory D. Christman Architects, Carawan Architects, The Warner Group, Cotterpin Design, SBT Design, Jeffrey Berkus, Anacapa Architecture, and donates his services to the Santa Barbara Bicycle Coalition.

Currently Adam took a position with Warner Group Architecture as an architect.
